Dentail AI was founded in 2020 by clinicians and engineers who lived the documentation burden first-hand. Our mission is to give every dental professional access to world-class AI diagnostics — without disrupting the workflows they already trust.
The idea for Dentail AI came from a straightforward observation: despite significant advances in imaging technology, missed pathologies and documentation burden remained stubbornly persistent problems in dental practice. Founder Dr. Alexander Johansson experienced this both first-hand as a practising surgeon, and as pracitce owner -seeing vastly different quality in radiological analysis.
The founding team spent several years working directly with radiologists, general practitioners, and regulatory specialists. The result is a system that well adapted to any clinical workflow, flags findings with confidence scores that clinicians can trust, and automatically suggests appropriate the journal entries. No extra clicks. No behavioural change. Just a second pair of expert eyes on every image -and a lot more time for clinicians to focus on what matters: patient care.

Alexander has practised as a dental surgeon for XX years. He has run clinics in dental clinics Switzerland, Denmark & Sweden and is the founder of TandCity AB, Digital teeth AG as well as worked with acquisitions and restructuring of dental clinics — before co-founding Dentail AI in 2020. Her firsthand experience with the documentation burden and diagnostic variability that costs clinicians time and patients outcomes is the reason the product exists.
Tobias holds a MSc. in Theoretical Physics & MSc in Finance. He has worked more than 20 years in complex financial model development including early adoption of machine learning methods, across roles in Stockholm, Boston, London and Johannesburg. Founding the company in 2020, he designed Dentail AI's core detection architecture and oversees all engineering infrastructure.
Anton has a background in Industrial Engineerign and Management from the Royal Institute of Technology and most recently a 13 year entrepreneurial journey, serving as founding CTO and later CEO at Abios, a B2B sports data business. He has a strong track record building and scaling technology organisations and products in regulated markets.
Caspar holds a degree in Accounting and has several years of experience as a finance professional. Among other things he has advised on software M&A transactions and capital raises in addition to being an early team member at a large dental care startup focusing on financial strategy, KPIs and data analysis as we all as fundraising.
